Ocaso
Ocaso is a ready-to-drink tequila soda that uses premium ingredients sourced from Mexico's renowned tequila mecca, you guessed it, Tequila. This drink sets itself apart by exclusively incorporating only premium tequila, eliminating the common practice of dilution with neutral spirits found in competitor products (listed as ‘alcohol’ in their ingredients).
We drew design inspiration from the traditional Mexican art form of Talavera, celebrated for its hand-painted tile and dinnerware. The design approach prioritized simplicity while embracing the natural beauty of Talavera patterns. The Ocaso logo was also crafted to echo the feeling of Talavera to integrate into the design of cans and boxes seamlessly.
The result is a nod to tradition, enriching the overall appeal of Ocaso that reflects the product's premium and authentic nature. Paired with a deliberate push for a skinny can, as opposed to the conventional beer can, adds to the product's distinctiveness on shelves.
Ocaso has received a ton of positive feedback on the artwork from industry professionals saying “it’s the prettiest branding on the market” for Tequila in BC. Ocaso is currently being sold in around 600 private liquor stores.
